Setup & accessories

Before adding a cable, adaptor or accessory, identify the ports you have, the result you need and the limitation you are trying to resolve.

Write down both ends of the connection

Record the source model and output label, then the receiving model and input label. A connector that physically fits does not prove that the signal is compatible. Optical digital audio, analog RCA, headphone outputs and speaker terminals need different receiving equipment.

Three checks that prevent unnecessary purchases

  1. Signal and direction: an input cannot be used as an output; some converters work in only one direction.
  2. Power and data: a USB charging cable is not necessarily a working USB audio cable. A converter may also need its own power.
  3. Volume and load: check whether output level is fixed or variable and whether the next device is a powered speaker, headphone amplifier or passive speaker.

For a TV, use the socket specifically labelled ARC/eARC when the receiving product requires ARC, and check the TV audio-format setting in both manuals. For desktop listening, follow the desktop connection guide.

Send model names and readable port labels through our contact route before ordering an adapter. Keep account credentials and other private information out of photos.
