Start with the speakers you have
WiiM's model-specific specification identifies Amp Pro as a streaming amplifier for passive speakers, with speaker outputs and inputs including HDMI ARC, optical and line-level audio. Model-specific specification
That distinction should come before a feature comparison. Keeping a good existing amplifier and adding a source is one path. Replacing both source and amplifier with one unit is another. Neither path is automatically more advanced.
What an integrated box can change
For a system built around passive speakers, combining roles may reduce the number of devices to choose and control. It also means that later replacement decisions involve more than one function at once. Think about which part you expect to keep longest, and which part is most likely to change.
For powered speakers or an existing integrated amplifier, a source-only device may be the more relevant comparison. Matching connector shapes alone does not establish that two components are intended to work together.
Two limits worth knowing
Amp Pro does not provide native AirPlay reception. Do not import the original WiiM Amp's compatibility into the Pro model. AirPlay list
WiiM also specifies that it has no built-in phono input. A turntable connection therefore needs a suitable phono stage in the turntable or elsewhere before a line-level input. Model-specific turntable note
Keep the evidence in proportion
This guide does not claim that a quoted amplifier rating guarantees suitability for every speaker, room or listening level. We also omit evolving surround-format claims where the current official page mixes model names in its FAQ. Product labels and the precise firmware/manual matter more than a copied paragraph.
The next useful step is to decide whether you are retaining or replacing your current amplification—not to add another box by default. Local stock, prices and after-sales arrangements require separate verification.
